NEXT stop on the European breeze-up circuit is Doncaster, where Goffs will offer almost 230 juveniles for sale on Wednesday. The youngsters breezed on Town Moor on Tuesday morning.

The Goffs Breeze Up Sale is synonymous with fast two-year-olds and Royal Ascot winners (nine in the past eight years). Ardad, Prince Of Lir, Bradsell and dual Group 1 winner Perfect Power have all come out of this sale and won at the Royal meeting within eight weeks in recent years.

Last year’s star graduates (so far) include the Crisfords’ Group 2 Rockfel Stakes winner Carla’s Way, the Ado McGuinness-trained Group 3 winner Tiger Belle, and the listed race winners Purosangue, Graceful Thunder and Beautiful Diamond - the last-named having also finished third in the Group 2 Queen Mary Stakes at Royal Ascot.

The aforementioned Bradsell proved he was more than a precocious two-year-old by returning to Royal Ascot at three to win the Group 1 King’s Stand Stakes.

This year’s catalogue feature 229 lots, over 60 of which are nominated for the Swedish Derby and Oaks Series, six for the Goffs Two Million Series and two for Harry’s Half Million. A total of 10 are eligible for French premiums and a further 10 for the lucrative GBB scheme.

Goffs UK managing director Tim Kent commented: “We received over 1,000 nominations for places, the most we have ever received, and the resulting catalogue features some outstanding horses.”
