A FULL-BROTHER to Group 2 winner Dandalla is one of the 750 yearlings catalogued for the Tattersalls Ireland September Yearling Sale at Fairyhouse.

There are 506 yearlings in the select sale on Tuesday and Wednesday, September 19th and 20th, with a further 256 yearlings in Part 2 of the sale on Thursday, September 21st.

Last year there were 480 lots in Part 1 and the median price was €26,000. Part 2 was much smaller last year, with 130 lots, and generated a median price of €8,000.

The 2022 sale has already produced 53 individual two-year-old winners, and that was before this week’s racing.

Stefano Botti celebrated Group 3 success with his €10,000 purchase Folgaria who remains unbeaten after winning the Group 3 Premio Primi Passi and both of her listed starts.

Myconian, Man With The Plan and the Ado McGuinness-trained Tiger Belle are other winning two-year-olds from last year’s sale who have won at listed level, all purchased for €27,000 or less.

Among older horses, other notable group and listed winning graduates this year include Rhea Moon, Holguin, Sir Busker, American Sonja and Rajinsky.

In 2019 Dandalla was bought for only €22,000 at this sale. Trained by Karl Burke for Nick Bradley Racing, she won the Group 2 Duchess of Cambridge Stakes at Newmarket as a juvenile and kept the best company at three, winning at listed level from 10 starts. She was sold for 750,000gns to Japanese interests.

Her full-brother is being consigned this year by Peter Nolan Bloodstock and will be offered as Lot 68 on day one of the sale.

Inns Of Court was responsible for two of the top five lots last year and his representatives this year include a half-sister to Spycatcher, a recent Group 3 winner and only just denied victory in a Group 1 at Deauville last Sunday.

There’s also a Churchill half-brother to multiple Group 1 winner Danedream, an Inns Of Court half-sister to the aforementioned Tiger Belle and a Footstepsinthesand half-brother to Group 3 two-year-old winner Great White Eagle.

The catalogue also contains a Mehmas full-sister to listed winner and Group 3 placed Mehmento, a River Boyne half-brother to multiple Group 1 winner A Case Of You, a Ghaiyyath half-sister to multiple group-placed performer Qaader, a Circus Maximus half-brother to listed two-year-old winner and Group 2-placed Myconian, and a Profitalbe half-brother to Group 2 winner Sir Busker.

All yearlings catalogued will be candidates for the €250,000 Tattersalls Ireland Super Auction Sales Stakes at the Curragh at the 2024 Irish Champions Festival. As well as the big pot for purchasers, the vendor of the winning horse will drive away in an Overlander R240 two-stall horsebox.

Over 85% of the yearlings catalogued are IRE Incentive qualified and eligible to win a sales voucher of €10,000 per qualifying race in Ireland and Britain.
