THE Irish Equine Veterinary Association recently staged its inaugural Breeding Symposium at the Lyrath Estate in Kilkenny for breeders active in both the sport horse and thoroughbred sectors. The purpose of the symposium (pictured above) was to promote the latest in evidence-based medicine and facilitate networking between breeders and the Irish equine veterinary community.

A panel of experts delivered a series of talks and presentations to an enthusiastic audience of over 75 breeders. The topics presented included biosecurity, epigenetics, hoof care and disease surveillance updates, aimed at preparing those in attendance for the 2025 breeding season.
