WITH the FEI World Breeding Championships taking place in Lanaken, Belgium in September, Horse Sport Ireland (HSI) announced the appointment of Jack Doyle as the show jumping team manager for the upcoming championships.

Doyle had a very successful show jumping career as a rider, representing Ireland in many Nations Cups, European Championships, World Championships and the Seoul Olympic Games. He has since focused on coaching the next generation of riders to maximise their potential with a particular expertise in show jumping. This is evident in his international coaching experience including leading Irish Junior riders to bronze medal European success and supporting nations towards Olympic qualification.

Doyle’s experience spans beyond his ridden and coaching career, where he has a keen interest in breeding and is an active inspector in the Irish Sport Horse Studbook. Most recently he has supported training in athleticism for Irish Draught inspections.

Speaking about his appointment, Jack said: “I am very much looking forward to taking up the position of team manager for the FEI WBFSH Jumping World Breeding Championships for Young Horses in September. I am an active coach on the national and international show jumping circuit and have supported many horse and rider combinations in achieving their potential in high performance sport.

“This position combines my experience in coaching and breeding, and I look forward to selecting and leading the team towards Lanaken in September.”
