French CSI3* win for Susan Fitzpatrick

COMPETING in the CSI3* in Maubeuge, France, Kilkenny’s Susan Fitzpatrick won a 1.45m ranking class with Keatingstown Skorphults Joker, owned by her mother Sharon Fitzpatrick.

The pair were the best of three clears against the clock in 44.64 seconds to earn €6,550. The same combination also finished ninth in the 1.50 ranking class.

Mayo’s Jonathan Gordon finished second in Sunday’s 1.55m Grand Prix aboard Andrea Hoppe’s 10-year-old mare Capri, one of just three clears in the jump-off. Comdt Geoff Curran finished fifth with the Minister for Defence’s Tempo Manor (Sligo Candy Boy x Lux Z), bred by Noel Wright. Adam Carey completed the trio of Irish riders in the top 10 when slotting into ninth with Quebello D, owned by Philippe Berthol.

Darragh Kenny wins two-star Grand Prix

THERE was an Irish one-two in Sunday’s two-star 1.45m Grand Prix at Spruce Meadows in Calgary, Canada. Darragh Kenny landed victory with Vancouver Dreams when double clear in 39.50 seconds, ahead of Conor Swail in second place with Gamble.
