Daragh Ó Conchúir is a freelance sports journalist who has been a regular contributor to The Irish Field since being asked to combine his twin passions by talking to some former GAA stars with racing links ahead of the Galway festival a number of years ago. His work revolves predominantly around in-depth interviews with the sport's leading figures. Daragh also is the editor of the definitive end-of-year record of the industry, the Irish Racing Yearbook. A native of An Rinn, the Co Waterford-based gaeltacht, he has previously been involved in TG4's production of live racing, and has been sports editor of two regional titles (The Muskerry Leader, The Kildare Nationalist). He has been living in Co Kildare since the end of 2002. Gaelic games, soccer, rugby, tennis, sailing and golf are just some of the other sports he covers and has an interest in.
