THERE’s a total of €35,000 up for grabs across the horse and pony classes at Clonmel Show. Entries are closing for Clonmel on Monday, June 27th at noon.

The prize fund for the showing classes has doubled to €22,500, with increased prize money in every class. The Coolmore All-Ireland Thoroughbred Broodmare and Foal classes will have a prize fund of €4,500 with money and rosettes down to at least sixth place.

There is a €1,000 prize for the Champion Ridden Horse with the reserve receiving €250. The Champion Young Horse will receive €500 with €200 for the reserve champion.

Array of classes

A total of 56 classes are scheduled for the horse and pony section which includes classes for cobs, coloured horses, retired racehorses, young led horses, broodmares and foals.

The pony section has all the usual pony classes for ridden hunter ponies, working hunter ponies and led and leading rein classes.

Twenty-one jumping classes are listed to compete for a prize fund of €12,500, including the €5,000 Red Mills Munster Grand Prix and a number of other €1,500 competitions
