THE Irish Equine Veterinary Association (IEVA) will stage its inaugural event on Thursday, November 10th with an ultrasonography wetlab hosted by Jerry O’Sullivan at Clinic na gCapall, Co. Carlow.

It will be followed by a two-day congress at The Lyrath Estate, Co Kilkenny.

Experts

Equine experts will discuss a range of subjects, covering reproduction, radiography, NVPS, mental health and more. Two streams of lectures will be held each day to provide choice for all equine clinicians.

Panel discussions to be held each evening will be a good opportunity for participation and questions; Friday’s subject will be reproduction and Saturday’s will be about imaging. Updates on the National Veterinary Prescription Service (NVPS) will be provided by the Department of Agriculture.

The individual stream on Saturday, November 12th, will see the world-renowned equine nurse Bonny Millar lecture on nursing the recumbent foal, and will also facilitate a practical skills clinic in the afternoon.

The congress promises to be an informative and entertaining start for the newly formed association.
