City Of Troy and Vandeek

to shuttle to Australia

COOLMORE have announced that European Champion Two-Year-Old and European Champion Three-Year-Old City Of Troy will shuttle to its Australian base later this year.

“Given how well the shuttle stallions are performing in Australia at present, he’s a very exciting addition to our stallion ranks,” Coolmore Australia’s Sales and Nominations Manager, Colm Santry, commented.

“He is by far the best son of Justify, with an impeccable Danehill-free pedigree that makes him suitable to all the dominant bloodlines in this part of the world.”

The multiple Group 1 winner will stand at a fee of $49,500, while Cheveley Park Stud’s recruit, Vandeek, will command $22,000 at Arrowfield Stud.

The leading Australian operation have pledged to support the unbeaten juvenile with its own broodmares, following a northern hemisphere season, during which Cheveley Park sent the son of Havana Grey 22 mares, including top-class race mare Integral and Group 1 producer Zykina.

Bucanero Fuerte has made the shorter trip from Tally Ho Stud to Adrian Murray’s yard, after it was reported by the TDN that the Group 1 winner failed to get any mares in foal. Owned by Amo Racing and Giselle de Aguiar, the son of Wootton Bassett won a Group 3 last season.

Grade 1 performer features in Tattersalls Online Sale

GRADE 1 hurdler West Balboa is among 62 lots catalogued for the Tattersalls Online Sale, which takes place next Tuesday and Wednesday (April 1st-2nd). The daughter of Yeats is a Grade 3 winner and gained a valuable victory in the Lanzarote Hurdle, while her top-flight second came in the Challow Novices’ Hurdle.

Ed Bethell’s Quandary is an expected highlight of the flat lots, as she is offered with a free entry for the Newcastle Fillies and Mares race on All-Weather Finals Day. The five-year-old qualifies for a £15,000 bonus if she wins.

Vin Cox resigns from top

job at Yulong Investments

YULONG Investments general manager Vin Cox has cited “a difference of opinion on strategic direction and values” as the reason for resigning from his position with Zhang Yuesheng’s operation.

Previously managing director of Godolphin Australia and Magic Millions, Cox stated that he will serve six months’ notice in his current role.

The announcement came days after Yulong Investments’ 2,700,000gns purchase Via Sistina recorded her seventh Group 1 win since joining Chris Waller.

Earlier this week, Yulong’s Willingham purchased the top two lots of the Arqana Online Sale.

Both offered by trainer Fabric Chappet, well-related three-year-old Why Not Again fetched €250,000, while blacktype filly Scapecity cost €155,000.
