WATERFORD vet Nicholas Connors was honoured for his contribution to the equine industry at the Waterford/Tipperary SJI branch awards recently. The Dungarvan man was also acknowledged for his remarkable achievement in breeding Loughnatousa WB, who has twice won the famously challenging Hickstead Derby. Connors was presented with his award by the two riders who rode ‘WB’ to his wins in 2012 and 2015, Paul Beecher and Trevor Breen. The now 17-year-old chesnut is by Spring Elegance out of the thoroughbred dam Earlybiddy VII.
