IRISH-born Joe Tuite sent out his first winner in his homeland as Four White Socks made a winning debut for the Lambourn-based trainer to shock the home team in the Group 3 Denny Cordell Lavarack & Lanwades Stud Fillies Stakes.
On her first start since moving from Harry Fry, this four-year-old daughter of Lope De Vega didn’t go ignored in the betting but was still returned at 14/1 to improve on her fifth in the Munster Oaks back in June. The prevailing soft ground looked ideal for Declan McDonogh’s mount and she finished out this extended nine-furlong event in style when coming over the stand’s side rail to make her effort.
