GREAT to hear that apprentice Tom ‘Socks’ Madden has already ridden 13 winners in Australia since heading Down Under at the end of last year.
One of Tom’s most recent winners came in a maiden at Geelong and the name of the horse was Crosshill. If the name sounds familiar it’s because Crosshill was once trained by Jessica Harrington and was a Punchestown Festival winner in 2022.
Tom told local reporters: “I know this horse very well – I used to ride him back home. He lacks gears but he is honest, stays well, and is thriving in Australia. He’s what we call a bus in Ireland – he would nearly go around by himself.”
