Two fabulous examples of top class National Hunt racing yesterday #therealwhacker @WetherbyRaces and #chianticlassico @Ascot it didn’t take long for the UK Jumps season to take off. Let’s shift the focus from #cheltenham and enjoy the fabulous jumps season as a whole.

Marvellous to see @Dazjacob10 reach the career milestone of 1,000 winners today at Ayr. There have been some hefty bumps along the way including some serious injuries but he has bounced back each time with a smile on his face and an almost tangible will to win.

Just looking at our Saturday figures. The City Of Troy race had at least twice as much turnover as all other UK/US races that day. 2nd place went to our own @bet365 Charlie Hall Chase at Wetherby. Debatable how good he was perhaps, but no denying he was Box Office and the public wanted to see him run.

The most important thing is City Of Troy came out of that sound and well. He couldn’t get his feet moving on that surface at all. Kinda makes you think what an effort it was from Giant’s Causeway all those years ago to nearly win it.. he really was the Iron Horse.
David Aragona@HorseToWatch
The City Of Troy hype ends with a fizzle. Never in the mix at any point, not fast enough to get forward and then clearly not handling the surface. Doesn’t take away from what he did overseas, but this was always the wrong race for him.

I know Melbourne Cup films have been done successfully before… But jockey, turned pop star, turned jockey again (having met the winning trainer whilst singing on a P&O Melb Cup cruise) all feels like it should be turned into a movie!
