appoints new CEO
MICHAEL Lynch is the new chief executive of Limerick Racecourse. From Ennis, Lynch has a background in the hospitality sector.
Following the cancellation of the flat meeting at Limerick last Saturday, the track has been allocated a replacement meeting on Thursday afternoon, May 16th.
In other fixture news, Tipperary has been given a replacement flat meeting on May 29th following the loss of its flat meeting last Thursday.
New trainer for Kitty Rose
KITTY Rose will run in the name of Australian trainers Mick Price and Michael Kent if she takes her chance in next weekend’s 1000 Guineas at Newmarket. Trained up to now by Natalia Lupini, Kitty Rose won at listed level last year and was Group 3 placed. Sold earlier this year, Kitty Rose remained in the care of Lupini but carried the colours of international owner Tim Porter when a close second in the Group 3 Priory Belle Stakes at Leopardstown this month.

Leading French equine veterinarian mourned
DES Leadon has paid tribute to French veterinarian Dr Roland Devolz, who died recently. Dr Devolz assisted the Interational Federation of Horseracing Authorities for close to 30 years.
Leadon said: “He served the industry, initially as a veterinarian and a university teacher – and later as a racing advisor and administrator, in France and on the wider worldwide stage through his enduring friendship with Louis Romanet, from the formative years of the IFHA and onwards right through to the present.
“He cared passionately for the integrity of the sport and its breeding industry. He was one of the truly great servants of the industry. May he rest in peace.”
Dallas Star added to Derby
ADRIAN Murray’s impressive Ballysax Stakes winner Dallas Star has been added to the Derby at Epsom at this week’s second entry stage. Charlie Appleby’s Hidden Law was also added to the Derby.
