AFTER 133 years, the Irish Racing Calendar and form book will cease to exist in print form at the end of this year.

Horse Racing Ireland informed subscribers this week that, from January 1st, the Calendar and form book will be available in digital format only, though they will be free to view on the HRI website.

“The decision to move completely digital with these publications was made considering Horse Racing Ireland’s focus on sustainability. As a semi-state organisation, HRI has a duty to reduce our carbon footprint.

The Turf Club published the first volume of the Irish Racing Calendar in 1790. The Calendar carries conditions and closing dates for upcoming races, along with notices of stewards’ inquiries, rule changes and licensing details.
