IF you have thoughts of getting involved in racehorse ownership, the Association of Irish Racehorse Owners, in association with HRI Ownership, will host a syndicates/racing club networking day on Sunday August 25th at Naas Racecourse.

The purpose of the event is to promote syndication and racing clubs membership, emphasising the correct procedures and encouraging owners-breeders and the general public to network together whilst enjoying a great day at the races.

A panel of experts will have a discussion prior to racing in the marquee when the gates open at 12.30pm, with the intention to educate owners on all aspects relating to setting up and running successful syndicates and racing clubs.

General topics for discussion will include: agreements and codes of conduct, entry/lunch entitlements for syndicates and racing clubs, AIR raceday procedures, parade ring access, owner-trainer agreements, post-racing care of horses and owners’ responsibilities.

Questions and answers

A speed dating-type section will take place during racing in the marquee where members of the general public can engage with established syndicate/racing clubs with the view to joining, seeing what is available.

Existing clubs or racing clubs wishing to take a stand to generate new members, contact Regina at info@irishracehorseowners.com before Wednesday August 21st.

The ITBA are also providing a platform for flat and National Hunt breeders with horses available to lease to engage with syndicate and racing clubs, determining if a direct business link can be generated between owners and breeders. Any breeder who wants to promote a horse they have ready to go and available to lease, or wishes to attend, can register with Hannah Marks in ITBA at hmarks@itba.ie before Wednesday August 21st.

Admission is free for all owners and breeders who register and each will receive a voucher for a BBQ on the day. To register, email Regina on info@irishracehorseowners.com by 3pm on Friday August 23rd.
