CONCERTISTA, one of the very best National Hunt mares in training in recent years, will be offered for sale at Goffs in December.

The eight-year-old daughter of Nathaniel won six of her 19 starts, including a Grade 2 novice hurdle at the 2020 Cheltenham Festival. She was beaten in a photo-finish in the same race a year earlier and again lost out in a photo-finish in the 2021 Grade 1 mares’ hurdle at the Festival.

Trained by Willie Mullins for owners Simon Munir and Isaac Souede, Concertista also won two Grade 2 races over fences, plus Grade 2 and Grade 3 hurdle races in Ireland. She will be one of the star lots in the December National Hunt Sale which runs from December 6th to 8th.

Her dam, the winning Selkirk mare Zagzig, has produced six winners from six runners, including two French stakes-winning and Group 1 placed siblings to Concertista.

The December NH Sale will also include Grade 2 winning hurdler Royal Kahala and Grade 2 bumper winner Grangee.

Goffs CEO Henry Beeby said: “Concertista is a remarkable mare and will be an asset to any broodmare band. Her superb record over hurdles and fences is matched by a wonderful blacktype pedigree and we are honoured that Simon Munir and Isaac Souede have chosen the December National Hunt Sale to offer her for sale.

“Our team have worked with vendors to compile a mouth-watering December National Hunt catalogue that will feature three days of top-class foals and a boutique breeding stock section where the focus is firmly on quality over quantity. This sale has produced record results for vendors in recent years, most notably the highest ever price for a NH mare at public auction, and the opportunity to purchase a Cheltenham Festival winner in Concertista is sure to capture the imagination of so many breeders.”

The full catalogue will be published in early November.
