A BREEDING right to Time Test topped this week’s Tattersalls Online auction when selling for 115,000gns to Peter and Ross Doyle Bloodstock.

Based at the National Stud in Newmarket, Time Test is standing at a fee of £15,000 this year, up from £8,500 last year.

He is a dual Group 2-winning son of Dubawi and was Europe’s leading first crop sire by blacktype winners.

Ross Doyle said: “He’s a young sire going places. It sounds like he’s got a serious book of mares lined up for this season on the back of his stats and the physicals of his foals and yearlings on show at the recent sales. We have bought it for a client who will support him with a very nice mare.”

A breeding right to Lope Y Fernandez was sold to Brook Stud’s Dwayne Woods for 24,000gns. His covering fee has been set at £8,500 this year.

Placed in five Group 1s up to a mile, Lope Y Fernandez retires to the National Stud with owners Coolmore retaining part ownership alongside Whitsbury Manor Stud and Nick Bradley Racing.

Michael and Laurence Gleeson on Aughamore Stud in Co Westmeath paid 22,000gns for a breeding right to new sire A’Ali. A son of Society Rock, A’Ali won three Group 2 races as a juvenile including the Norfolk Stakes at Royal Ascot. He now stands at Newsells Park Stud at a fee of £7,500.

Laurence Gleeson said: “A’Ali is a beautiful horse with terrific presence and brings plenty of precocity, plus there will not be too many on this side of the Irish Sea.”
