THREE handy horse classes were judged in Ring 4 on Saturday by Danny Lusby whose first winner, Drynam’s Laura Reynolds, topped the scores in the RC70 section with her Irish Draught gelding Barryswell Rachet, a 10-year-old grey by Fintan Himself.

Yvonne Hoban struck for Thomastown and District in the RC80, where she pulled out all the stops to win on her Irish Sport Horse mare Aghalona Pop It, an 18-year-old bay daughter of Grange Bouncer, while the honours at RC90 level were claimed by Tara Hill’s Miia Ruuskanen riding Liisa Rantamaki’s ISH gelding Happy Gilmore, a 14-year-old bay by Lux Z.

On Sunday, Denise Colebrooke’s winners of the three equitation showing classes were Drynam’s Laura Lynam on her nine-year-old bay mare DMF Meadow Lane (RCP1), Westport secretary Isobel Lee with her 23-year-old bay gelding Flin (RCP2) and Castle Hill’s Katie McGrane riding her ISH gelding Carraigahulla Camiro Z (RCP3), a 15-year-old ISH mare by Camiro de Haar Z, who she has competed in the past with Showjumping Ireland.
