WESLEY College and the CoilÓg team ran a most enjoyable day of Interschools show jumping last Sunday at the Co Kildare venue. The competition ran off over the course of the morning and early afternoon and the bad weather held off until just as the event finished.
The TRI Open teams league produced a win for the team that had travelled from Kilkenny College and Paul Cuddihy, their Chef d’Equipe, was delighted with the team’s win. Robert Garland from Wesley College presented the red rosettes to Alannah Bailey on Kilpatrick Sparkle, Lucy Keane on Ballycreen King’s Mistress, Lily Redmond and Carton Trending and Rachel McMonagle on North Star Hunter. Local school Newbridge College was the runner up. Isabella Walsh, Ellen O’Neill, Eva O’Neill and Hogan Byrne riding Ardenhue Red Robin, Gateau Mr Blue, Masculero Z and AC Remus represented Newbridge. Gorey Community College found the trip worthwhile to claim third place. Its team was Alexandra Cassidy riding Courtwood Prince, Kyle Lad ridden by Holly Spencer, Tabatha McGee and Abbeybrook Aurora and Daisy Daisy and Amber Farrell. Remaining league points were awarded to St Mary’s New Ross and host school, Wesley College.
