THE 1.30m National Mini Grand Prix Final on Saturday saw a win for Mark Duffy and A Star Is Born when they clocked the winning clear round in 48.72.

Danielle Quinlivan was less than a second behind aboard Little Miss Que, when they kept all the poles in place in 49.26. Little separated the next place as Aoife Leonard and Ringwood Chiquitta Gold galloped home clear in 49.54.

Molly Hughes Bravo and HHS Savanna accounted for fourth place when clear in 50.08, while Lily O Dea and CSF Alma crossed the line clear in 53.28 for fifth place. A clear in 55.90 for Richard Hourigan and Killaoran Cobra Carel saw them take sixth place.

The Mares 1.20m Championship Final on Sunday saw 31 combinations line out and from those six delivered double clears. Taking the win was Tadhg Beecher and Loughnatousa KT when they came home in 38.14. This nine-year-old mare was bred by Tim Beecher and is by OBOS Quality 004 and out of Loughnatousa Paula.

Slotting into second place was Hannah Blakely and Lougherne Kingfisher in a time of 38.29, ahead of Grace O’Connor and Deedee at 39.69. Kilkenny rider Molly Hughes Bravo and HHS Savanna were fractions behind in 39.88 for fourth place, while Sophie Mullane and Diamond Dreamer took fifth when they crossed the line in 40.23. Completing the top six line-up was Tony O’Donoghue and Glenfield Electric Lady, clear in 45.78.

Clear winner

Winner of the 1.20m six-year-old and under final was Wesley Ryan and SVS Je Taime Castlefield, when they delivered the only double clear in 41.55. Shane Goggins and Royal Emerald QC were fastest of the four faulters in 42.93. Emma McEntee added to her tally when she was fastest of the four faulters in the first round aboard Temple Quality.

Leading the victory lap in the 1.20m seven-year-old and over final was Colin Hannan and JT Silver Lux when clear in 36.85. It was an extremely close class with Joshua Joyce and Drumneath Jack Jones coming home with nothing to add in 36.90 for second. Maisie Adams delivered a foot-perfect round with Dawsons Trend in 38.25 for third place.

In the Ladies 1.10m final 29 combinations booked their place in Sunday’s final and seven double clears were delivered. Taking the title when clear in 31.60 were Saoirse Hanafin and Tinarana Global Venture in 31.60. Rachel Kyne put in a gallant attempt with Hold That Thought, but their time of 32.56 saw them take second place. Grace O’Connor followed closely behind with Moneymore Sarinco Bay in 32.90 for third place.

Claiming the win in the Amateur Grand Prix Final was Karen Broderick and Earl Greys Last Cruise when they came home with nothing to add in 33.25 in a 17 way jump-off.

English rider Hannah McNiven took the runner-up spot with Hey You when they came home in 35.15. Fractions behind and taking third place was Laura Connors and Abordable Du Talus in 35.41.

Double delight

Karen Broderick and Earl Greys Last Cruise were back in the ribbons when winning the 1.10m six-year-old and over Horse Final. The pair were fastest of 13 double clears in 35.38. Lorraine Younge and Little Miss Russel came closest to catching the winner, coming home in 36.95-0 for second. Jamie Landers put in a more cautious round with Ballyknock Rambling Rose coming home in 41.36 for third place.

Leading the victory lap in the 1.10m five-year-old and under final was Carla McGarry and Innisfree Mia when clear in 45.26. Mark Duffy added to his record when he partnered Red Lottie Brigade to a clear in 45.58 for second, ahead of Fraser Duffy and Fernhill Carvalho, who was also clear in 46.57.

Winner of the 1m five-year-old and under final was Michael Daly and KEC McKenzzie when they delivered a double clear in 38.12. Daly was chased home by Amie Carey and Mr Numero Blue when they came home clear in 38.51. Third place belonged to Fionnghuala Benson and Barleyhill Airborne, clear in 39.45.

Orla Dixon and Prada Royal emerged as the winners of the six-year-old and over horse final when they were fastest of the double clears in 32.75. Felicity Ward and Musherieb were fractions behind in 33.16 for second, ahead of Emily Browne and Admiran Tornado, clear in 34 seconds.
