THE Gurkha, winner of two Group 1 mile races as a three-year-old, has moved to Roveagh Lodge Stud in Kilcolgan, Co Galway.

A son of Galileo and Group 3 winner Chintz, The Gurkha was trained by Aidan O’Brien to win the Poule d’Essai des Poulains and Sussex Stakes during his classic year. He also finished second in both the St James’s Palace Stakes and the Eclipse Stakes.

He has stood at Coolmore Stud for the past five years and his best progeny include German champion two-year-old Best Of Lips, last year’s Group 3 runner-up Imperial Fighter and recent impressive Naas winner Tosen Lydia, who holds classic entries.

The Gurkha’s fee has been set at €3,500 and he will stand alongside Fuisse and Monitor Closely.
