THE Irish Thoroughbred Breeders’ Association completed its Summer Series of educational events during June and they included well-supported seminars on stud farm and bloodstock administration, and building a bloodstock business.

Hannah Marks, ITBA education coordinator, expressed thanks to those who attended the seminars and to seminar coordinators Aoife Hanratty of PA Solutions and Seamus Murphy of Gateway Consulting.

The series covered stud farm administration and marketing, a ‘speed-dating’ style one-to-one with industry bloodstock businesses, statutory employee health and safety modules, and a business development workshop focused on taxation, pensions and succession planning.

Marks said: “A massive thank you to Aoife Hanratty and Seamus Murphy, for giving us their time and very informative presentations, along with the industry bloodstock businesses who joined us for the one-to-one session.

“This was a fantastic opportunity for employers and employees to develop their skills and increase their knowledge around bloodstock administration and develop their businesses.

“We hope to see everyone again at future events, including the upcoming sales preparation series which will take place in early August and early September, focusing on preparing yearlings and foals for the sales.”
