1.40 Regeneron ‘Celebrating 10 Years In The Mid-West’ Maiden 7f

A combination of first-time cheekpieces and dropping back in trip may see the Dermot Weld-trained Settlement register a well-overdue success. The daughter of Kingman has some solid form, having reached the frame in half of her six starts to date. This looks a nice opportunity to finally get her head in front in this grade.

Il Pellegrino ran very well when second on his racecourse debut at the Curragh last September but was beaten at odds-on next time. A reproduction of that initial run would make the Joseph O’Brien-trained colt a serious contender.

2.15 Regeneron ‘Celebrating A

Decade In Limerick’ Handicap 7f

Hemight should be suited to the better ground conditions here, having run well when third in maiden company last time. The Fozzy Stack-trained colt looked like being seriously involved in the finish of that latter race before weakening late on. With less of an emphasis on stamina now, the son of Zoffany should go close.

Fairyhouse second Emerald Eclipse is another capable of running a big race. Having stayed on strongly over six furlongs on that occasion, the Dark Angel colt should appreciate stepping back up in trip.

‘Family Day At The Races’

Fillies Handicap 1m

September Leaves holds leading claims of following up her recent maiden win over course and distance. Unlucky in running in a much higher grade than this on her last run in handicap company, the Jessica Harrington-trained filly races off just a 2lb higher mark now. The daughter of Night Of Thunder was value for a bit more than the winning margin.

Handicap debutante Quadruple has to be respected for Ger Lyons and Colin Keane. Having only lost out by a neck last time, an opening mark of 74 could prove to underestimate the Juddmonte-owned filly.

3.25 10 Years Of Regeneron Science To Medicine In Limerick Handicap 1m

The David Marnane-trained Amemri can register a second course and distance success. Having caught the eye on her reappearance in a stronger race at Cork, the four-year-old can be forgiven a lesser effort at the Curragh subsequently. Dropping back in trip on a straight track may not have suited, while she also ended up being drawn on the wrong side.

Top-weight Sirjack Thomas has to be of interest now that he races in the bottom grade for the first time in his career. The veteran grey ran better than the bare result when finishing mid-division at Gowran Park last time.

Irish Derby entrant London City may be able to make the most of the weight he receives from his elders. The Aidan O’Brien-trained colt showed promise on both starts at two but looks to have improved considerably since making his reappearance in April. Although facing his stiffest test to date, the son of Justify may well be up to the task.

Harbour Wind looks the class horse in the race but Dermot Weld’s gelding may find the trip just on the sharp side.

Jockey Chris Hayes is likely to make this a proper test of stamina from the front.

Viyanni wouldn’t need to improve a great deal on his recent Fairyhouse sixth to take this moderate affair.

With just the two career starts to date, the Johnny Murtagh-trained colt may lack the experience of a few of these rivals but at the same time, he is open to more improvement than most. It would be disappointing if the Aga Khan’s homebred is not involved.

Winning Smut remains a maiden after 11 starts under both codes but had shown glimpses of ability.

The locally-trained gelding, representing the Michael Hourigan team, has run some of his better races on decent ground, so has to be considered under Seamie Heffernan.

Out On Friday should prove hard to peg back from the front now that he reverts to his optimum trip. He has run very well on his last two starts but had excuses regarding the race distance on both occasions.

Cafe Con Leche is unquestionably well handicapped off a mark of 66 on the level despite having yet to win from 17 attempts.

However, the four-time hurdles winner may just prefer more of an ease in the ground than he is likely to face this weekend.
