HAYLEY O’Connor of Goffs is asking the racing and bloodstock community to help her to raise funds for emergency aid for sick and injured civilians and children in Palestine and Lebanon.

With her husband Fergal Feeney, Hayley has been in touch with Colin Lee of GOAL to work out the best way to get direct aid to those who need it most. Together they have come up with a plan to raise €50,000, which will go directly to purchasing a mobile health unit to treat the wounded and sick, and to provide educational and psychological support for children trapped in those brutal war zones.

A fundraising website has been set up, entitled Racing’s Response to Gaza and Lebanon.

Hayley explained: “In a place where even hospitals aren’t safe, where ambulances are targets, often the only way to reach people is with mobile health units - Land Cruisers and vans equipped with medical tools and emergency supplies.

“If we can raise enough money to fund one of these, we might be able to get emergency medical attention that save a child’s mother, a little brother, a big sister, or a father desperately trying to protect their family.

“If we reach our goal, our contributions stand to support 100 children for a month, helping them find comfort, community, and encouragement amid unimaginable circumstances. We cannot turn our backs. Please stand with us and make your contribution to Racing’s Response to Gaza and Lebanon. Your donation, no matter how small, will help bring relief and hope to those who need it most.

“As we are personally covering administrative costs for this fundraiser, we can give assurance that all of the money you donate will go directly to the cause.”
