DON’T be surprised if you see Danny Mullins popping up in the background multiple times during RTÉ’s coverage of the Galway Races next week, waving like he’s never been on television before. It’s all for a good cause.

The Tote has struck up a winning partnership with Danny in recent seasons and we see they have something special planned for next week at Ballybrit.

On Wednesday, Tote Galway Plate day, there will be over 30 life-size cutouts of Danny positioned all around Ballybrit. Racegoers are invited to take a photograph of themselves alongside a cutout and post it on social media while tagging @ToteRacing.

The Tote will donate €25 to the Injured Jockeys Fund for Graham Lee for every post and they will also pony up every time Danny gets a mention in newspapers and on TV, so we expect to see Danny loitering near the winner’s enclosure after every race.

The Irish Field thought it would be fun to jump on the ‘Where’s Danny?’ bandwagon too. Somewhere in this week’s edition is a photograph of Danny taken at Ballinrobe this week. Email fieldcomp@theirishfield.ie with that page number and you could win one of three pairs of tickets for Tote Galway Plate day. The winners will be selected on Monday morning.
