LAST Sunday, members of the Midland and Western Region of Dressage Ireland enjoyed a very sociable lunch at the Hudson Bay Hotel, Athlone.

The main purpose of the function was to celebrate members’ successes during the year, especially that of the senior squad in the team competition at DI’s national championships held at the Mullingar Equestrian Centre in September.

That successful quartet comprised Preliminary competitors Niamh Macken (Category 1 with Diamond King Henry) and Cassandra Morris (Category 2 with Lots Of Joy), Category 2 rider Nina Reinhold Molloy (who competed at Novice level with Kingsborough Samira) and Category 2 rider Tracy Murphy (who competed at Elementary level with Kennedy).

The presentations were made by the Region’s longest-serving member, Vida Tansey, who was no doubt front and centre when it came to the post lunch brain-storming session, which was focussed on improving and progressing the Region in 2024.
