THE College of Agriculture, Food and Rural Enterprise (CAFRE) at Enniskillen Campus will host an open day next Saturday, March 29th.

Those in attendance will hear about CAFRE’s courses and meet some of the 50 horses housed within the college’s breeding, equitation and racing units. CAFRE uses horses in the delivery of education programmes to develop learners’ academic, practical and people skills to equip them for a career in the equine industry.

Students can choose to study full-time, part-time or online equine courses. Qualifications start from Level 2 and go to honours degree level (equivalent to Level 4 and Level 8 on the National Framework of Qualifications for Ireland respectively).

In addition to their main qualification students can opt to attain additional qualifications including those of the British Horse Society.

Many CAFRE courses incorporate a period of work placement, enabling students to experience life and work in the equine industry before they complete their course.

The college also offers a wide range of industry training courses to complement the development of staff working in the equine industry. These courses include a Certificate of Higher Education in Equine Science and Management, a fully online Higher Education course which is validated by Ulster University.
